Behavior

Did you know that behavior issues are the number one reason pets are relinquished to shelters or euthanized?

We make every effort to help pet owners understand animal behavior. Some behavior issues may start out seeming small, like no big deal, go unrecognized, unnoticed or blown off as, “normal puppy” or just being a dog. Any of these behaviors can become extremely troublesome and even deadly. Some behaviors can be prevented just by learning to recognize the early signs of fear, anxiety and stress in the body language of our pets. Other issues can be prevented by not inadvertently reinforcing them such as puppy biting, jumping up, barking, whining or begging.

At GAHC, we understand how stressful behavior issues can be. We are here to help. We all have enough stress in our lives. No one needs to come home to inappropriate urination, defecation, or destructive behaviors such as furniture or your home destroyed. Additionally, having a pet in the home that shows signs of aggression towards family members or other animals can be a major source of stress and dangerous as well. Please do not hesitate to address these unwanted or potentially devastating behaviors. The sooner they are addressed the better the results.
