Veterinary Reception/Assistant or Student Technician Position  (May 2021)


Germantown Animal Health Center is in search of a part time Reception/Assistant or a current student of an AVMA accredited veterinary technology program to join our team. This position does not require work on weekends or major holidays. No experience required. Please send resumes to germantownvet@gmail.com with 'resume' in the subject line.


Job duties include, but are not limited to the following: Reception/Assistant tasks such as answering multi-line phone system, retrieving messages, answering phone calls, taking notes, directing calls as necessary, operating veterinary software, internet, and online messaging and reminder system, checking in patients, discharging patients, client education, printing and faxing paperwork, filing, organizing, retrieving and dispersing incoming mail, preparing outgoing mail, emptying trash and recycling receptacles and retrieving bins from roadside, mopping floors, washing, folding and dispersing towels and bedding, cleaning cages, tables, doors, windows, counters, refilling supplies, gathering supplies for procedures, cleaning up after procedures, equipment maintenance, preparing patient samples for testing, patient restraint, filling prescriptions, inventory, stocking, FIFO, etc.
Student technicians would be responsible for learning all aspects of reception and assistant duties in addition to duties legally allowed in the state of Ohio for student technicians under the supervision of a licensed technician or veterinarian.

Candidates must exhibit keen attention to detail, have excellent communication skills and be willing to work together as a team. Candidates must be physically able to be on their feet for long periods of time and lift at least 40 pounds unassisted.

This part-time position has the potential to become full-time, however, full-time is not guaranteed.
