Anesthesia Monitoring

Anesthesia Monitoring

To maintain patient safety during a surgical procedure, your pet will be monitored by a Registered Veterinary Technician. The RVT will monitor vital signs including temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, carbon dioxide, oxygen saturation, capillary refill time, and mucous membrane color. Patients also have an intravenous catheter for drug and fluid administration and an endotracheal tube to maintain a patent airway. This way, if an anesthetic emergency does arise, no time will be wasted trying to access a vein or airway in a hurry.
